Wanted main wiki articles

What is JumbaWiki:Village pump? --Twz 00:30, 27 June 2007 (EST)

OK, I found it on Wikipedia - I should have checked before asking! Is "village pump" a common term, or only for wikis? Could we call it something else? --Twz 00:50, 27 June 2007 (EST)

Do we need JumbaWiki:Legal Notices? Could just redirect this to JumbaWiki:General disclaimer --Twz 00:30, 27 June 2007 (EST)

All these titles are links I've come across over the wiki not linked elsewhere, button footers, and edit pages etc. They can simply redirect if they look relevant. Village pump is only wanted because it's on the long edit help article which could be changed to another link. Aussiepete 08:43, 27 June 2007 (EST)

Article grading / importance

We're asking people to add {{Grading|class=start|importance=mid}} then underneath it says to use {{Class stub}} or {{Class start}} or {{Class good}}, etc. Shouldn't these sub-templates only be used by the Grading template? --Twz 12:52, 1 July 2007 (EST)

I understand it appears strange, the main intention was to have links to the categories and templates because it's a dodgy way it's been set up. It makes it harder to manage without the links (maybe it could say something more like:
  • stub: Most of these articles, if of low importance, should be in the Proposed name space. (category, template)

This article's structure

This page is getting a bit long, and is a bit overwhelming. Can I suggest that each main heading could have just a few descriptive lines, then link to a sub-article. Eg "Working categories and templates": a few words about what they are for, and move the actual list of templates to their own page. That would make this page a clean overview, and users can look at the area they're interested in. Development ideas (Graduated and Future) could share a page --Twz 16:32, 7 July 2007 (EST). Wiki "wanted" pages

The list of Wanted pages includes recently deleted pages (which aren't really wanted) and anything else that people have discussed on Talk pages. Is it worth trying to tidy this up so only REALLY wanted pages are listed? This would involve changing archived articles and user talk pages to remove the [[ and ]]. If we don't do this people might re-create deleted pages, thinking they are wanted. --Twz 16:37, 7 July 2007 (EST)

I did originally use the {{wanted}} template for this reason, so "wanted" pages could be better controlled, but I've since deleted all of those articles just for simplicity. This also allows you to add grading and importance on the talk page. Aussiepete 12:34, 8 July 2007 (EST)
