Talk:PostgreSQL Databases
From JumbaWiki
With CGI it may be possible since CGI scripts run under your user ID, however by using CGI you suffer a performance hit.
PHP is also not configured to use "safe" mode, so any PHP script on the system will be able to read the contents of your PHP scripts - including any passwords in those scripts. In fact the "system" call is enabled in PHP so that any PHP script on the system can run any command on any file accessible to the web server.</blockquote> The above paragraphs don't seem to have anything to do with PostgreSQL, so do they really need to be there? And what about "CGI may be the only real option for PHP" - doesn't really make any sense.
cPanel
This page needs to be 'cPanel-ified' considering it is in the cPanel category? --Scott T 00:09, 3 July 2007 (EST)
- There definitely does need to be a distinction between cPanel features and general info about some conflicting articles. This article could discuss PostgreSQL in general, pros/cons comparison to MySQL and resources. Then the PostgreSQL (cPanel) article could relate it more directly to the options available to cPanel (if any different), otherwise merged consistently with all other cPanel articles (same goes with Fantastico). Move
Making script etc should be moved to it's own article under category guides. Aussiepete 11:56, 10 July 2007 (EST)
