Anyway to make the icon images link to the article instead of to the image file? Tom 10:40, 24 July 2006 (EST)

I've tried a few ways but it seems that you can't which is a little annoying :)
Just use <img src="http://www.domain.tld/image.jpg">, have it point to the necessary image. Should work.
And where is the physical spot for these images? Aussiepete
http://wiki.jumba.com.au/w/images/6/66/Email.gif http://wiki.jumba.com.au/w/images/e/ed/Usageviewer.gif turns out to be the only code you need - in other words, just the image address. To get the address in Firefox, right-click, then Copy Image Location. In IE you can right-click the image, then properties, and grab the image location from there. In any browser you'll first have to go to the article first. --Thewebdruid 17:01, 24 July 2006 (EST)
Well thanks for volunteering to do all of those for us Thewebdruid, Have fun :) Aussiepete

How should this page change? Should the icons be grouped like they are in the X3? Also, what would be the simplest way to update each icon? --Scott T 14:55, 25 June 2007 (EST)

This is a tricky one. Some people might still be using the x2 theme, and in x3 you can customise the layout anyway. --Twz 15:05, 25 June 2007 (EST)
I can understand that but wouldn't x3 be the 'standard' now? Everyone should(?) be on the v11 servers now. As for customizing the layout, the icons are still grouped into sections and keep the same icons between themes. --Scott T 17:09, 25 June 2007 (EST)
True. Maybe as you say, the icons could be in x3-like groups, not just a big block like they are now. --Twz 17:17, 25 June 2007 (EST)
The sidebar is pretty useless as it is and leaves a big empty gap to the right, should be text. also the graphics aren't necessary, it was just to make it look prettier and recognizable. it could just be the text titles... Aussiepete 18:44, 25 June 2007 (EST)
I agree about the side bar - probably not necessary. Would be nice to keep the icons since they make it easier to find in the wiki or alternatively, match the article back with the cPanel function - just need to update them. --Scott T 18:58, 25 June 2007 (EST)
Sidebar - the x3 sidebar is a bit more colourful. As an alternative to text-only, it might work if we slice up the sidebar into rows, and make a table with a text description next to each part - if you know what I mean --Twz 19:41, 25 June 2007 (EST)
Perhaps. Then link on to the main page which affects it (eg, Addon_Domain)? --Scott T 20:10, 25 June 2007 (EST)
Options - another thing to note - the icons have changed with x3, so we should replace all the current icons with new ones! --Twz 19:44, 25 June 2007 (EST)
I've been playing around with this wiki-text and was thinking something along the lines of what's in my sandbox at the moment. I haven't made everything a link yet and there are a heap of missing images. Suggestions? --Scott T 20:10, 25 June 2007 (EST)
Brilliant work - exactly how I imagined it. And the heading for each group will appear in the table of contents. --Twz 20:44, 25 June 2007 (EST)
Thanks for that :) I've now filled in the rest of the boxes (according to my cPanel account anyway) and will work on links over the next few days --Scott T 21:04, 25 June 2007 (EST)
Just to add off of my previous comment, I can see a potential need to re-write a few articles (along with update the rest) and even add some new ones to fill the blanks --Scott T 21:55, 25 June 2007 (EST)

cPanel options

OK. You guys can attack it too if you feel the need :p --Scott T 17:31, 26 June 2007 (EST)

Looks great --Twz 17:48, 26 June 2007 (EST)
Could the labels be a slightly smaller font? If so it might be worth making a style class for this, to also include width:90px; text-align:center; vertical-align:top --Twz 17:57, 26 June 2007 (EST)
I wonder if each of the subtitles could have a very short descriptive blurb or summary of the features? Aussiepete 18:20, 26 June 2007 (EST)
(deleted my previous comment - misunderstood) Yes I agree --Twz 18:29, 26 June 2007 (EST)
Yes - would be useful, though it wouldn't/shouldn't need to be very much --Scott T 19:31, 26 June 2007 (EST)
Is probably a good idea. Half of the wikitext is predominantly that formatting --Scott T 19:34, 26 June 2007 (EST)

Sidebar

Following the sidebar discussion above, I've got a list of the x3 sidebar items, but now I'm not sure what to do with it. If just listed down the page it'll look as bad as the current image. It might be better to just say "the side shows a summary of stuff..". In case we want to use the full list, here it is: Notices (eg quota warnings - only if applicable), Main domain, Home directory, Last login from, Disk space usage, Monthly bandwidth transfer, Email accounts, Subdomains, Parked domains, Addon domains, Ftp accounts, SQL databases, Mailing lists, Hosting package, Server name, cPanel version, cPanel build, Theme, Apache version, PHP version, MySQL version, Architecture, Operating system, Shared Ip Address, Path to sendmail, Path to PERL, Kernel version, cPanel Pro, Service status --Twz 18:09, 28 June 2007 (EST)

Could probably remove it from this page, however the sidebar images can still be used as images such as Image:CPanel_addon-domain.png can be updated. --Scott T 00:00, 3 July 2007 (EST)
Sidebar image removed - we may need to add some more detail to this section. --Twz 20:41, 5 July 2007 (EST)
