PGP or Pretty Good Privacy is a computer program which provides cryptographic privacy and authentication, commonly used for e-mail. The application is available as a plugin for most common e-mail applications such as Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express. Currently, PGP version 9 is the latest release.

An open source version called OpenPGP is currently in development under the new GnuPG licence.
