Mailing lists (cPanel)
From JumbaWiki
Mailing lists can simplify sending messages to a large group of people. You can add a group of email addresses to a mailing list to avoid typing in those addresses each time a mailing is sent. This can be very useful when sending newsletters or other updates to large groups of people. The mailing lists option in cPanel uses Mailman, a Python application that manages your lists. There are other options for creating mailing lists, including PHPlist which is installable from Fantastico.
Broadly there are two kinds of mailing list software. One way mailing list software (eg PHPlist) allows the administrator to send emails to the list subscribers, and group mailing list software (eg Mailman) does the same, but also allows members of the list to send email to all members of the list.
