A firewall is a security application that prevents unauthorised access to networks.

Jumba Server Firewalls

All of Jumba's server run a firewall application which will block out a user for 30 minutes if they have 5 failed authentication attempts. This includes (but is not limited to) failed logins to cPanel, FTP, email, SSH and RemoteMySQL.

If you are unable to view your website after trying to login, chances are you are blocked at the firewall.

  • You should be unblocked within 30 minutes when the automatic reset takes place
  • If you have a dynamic IP Address, you can power off and on your ADSL modem, and you should be assigned a different IP address by your ISP
  • If you urgently need your IP address cleared from the firewall for whatever reason, please feel free to send in a support ticket or contact us via the support phone line.

Common firewall applications

  • Zone Alarm - Available in free and paid versions
  • Norton - Good firewall, but often lags computers as it hogs too many resources
  • McAfee - On par with Norton
