HotLink Protection
From JumbaWiki
Hotlinking is the practice whereby one site links directly to images residing on another site. An example of hotlinking would be using a <img> tag to display an image from your site from somewhere else on the net. The end result is that the other site is stealing your bandwidth. This means that when a user navigates to a site on site A, the images get downloaded from site B, thereby using up site B's bandwidth.
There are a number of methods of avoiding this, the most effective being to use .htaccess, which is what the cPanel hotlink protection uses.
The system attempts to add all sites it knows you own to the "safe" list, however you may need to add others. Other sites will still be able to link to any file type that you don't specify (for example html files).
