It is a moderately popular choice for web hosting servers, and is available on both Windows and Linux servers.

Licensing

Plesk is available in different licensing schemes: 30 domains, 100 domains, 300 domains, unlimited domains; and can be paid for monthly, or can be paid for with a one-time fee. Plesk can work out cheaper than cPanel, although when adding features (Tomcat JSP, Application Pack, SpamAssassin, PostgreSQL etc.) it can get very expensive in comparison to cPanel.

Origin of the name

The word Plesk is Russian for splash.
