cPanel address
cPanel is commonly accessed via one of the following URLs:
http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel http://www.yourdomain.com:2082
For a secure connection with SSL, use one of these:
https://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel https://www.yourdomain.com:2083
If your domain name has not yet propagated, you can access cPanel with your hosting IP address:
http://203.111.222.111/cpanel http://203.111.222.111:2082
(replace 203.111.222.111 with the server IP address advised in your welcome email)
Firewalls
If you have trouble connecting to cPanel, it may be a problem with the firewall on your ADSL modem/router.
Billion 7404 Router
If you have a Billion 7404 modem/router and the firewall is turned on, you will not be able to access the secure login to cPanel.
What you need to do is allow outbound traffic through Port 2082.
Opening Port 2082
- Log into the router by browsing to it (typically IP 192.168.1.254)
- Enter your username and password (you have changed the default password haven't you?)
- Go to: Configuration | Firewall | Packet Filter
- Click on Add TCP/UDP Filter
- Fill in the following:
Rule Name mei_cpanel Time Schedule Always On Source IP Address(es) 0.0.0.0 Netmask 0.0.0.0 Destination IP Address(es) 0.0.0.0 Netmask 0.0.0.0 Type TCP Source Port 0 ~ 66535 Destination Port 2082 ~ 2082 Inbound Block Outbound Allow
- Click Apply, then Save Config
